The PRENATAL BONDING CURRICULUM educates participants in a completely new method of facilitating pregnant women through the second part of their pregnancy until giving birth. Teachings are based on principles of Pre- and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine, general knowledge of Psychoanalysis, Group Analysis, and Systemic Family Therapy. Significant amounts of information and personal growth through ENRICHED BIOGRAPHICAL WORK*, in addition to the method of PRENATAL BONDING (BA) will be acquired.

The education content includes definition, history, research, theory, practice, limitations, outcomes of PRENATAL BONDING (BA), and demonstration of facilitations in detailed case studies. Participants will experience group regression to personal prenatal experience and present their early biography (*EBW) in a safe, secure environment to deepen their understanding of the facilitation process as a future facilitator. The group process also includes and invites every participant's significant personal and professional knowledge and wisdom concerning all aspects of the earliest childhood experiences. Every participant will facilitate at least two practical administrations of the PB(BA) method, guided personally and supervised by Gerhard Schroth and Anne Goertz-Schroth (Co-leader). The training group also helps to contain these first experiences through peer review and support of each facilitation.

The foundation of the Curriculum will be centered on self-awareness training (*EBW) and biographical assessment techniques of pregnant women and significant others. Facilitation techniques for 'baby sessions' and case studies complete the understanding of the method. Participants will begin their own work with pregnant women end of 2021, supported through self-reflective supervision (via ZOOM) by Anne and Gerhard Schroth. The following ZOOM webinars will cover specialized facilitation techniques and focus on peer-group supervision of the trainees' own cases. This experience allows participants to be present in their work with pregnant mothers and families.

The group process conducted during supervision/peer review allows participants to learn from each other in the sense of Michael Balint's work dealing with the personal aspects of interactional experiences with pregnant women. Thus, we will have a continuum from theory to practical application within the five training sections throughout about 21 months. For theoretical topics presented, handouts will be provided. A personal awareness and reflection process is inevitable during the education experience. PRENATAL BONDING (BA) offers a significant developmental capacity to the participants.

The training curriculum requires that all workshops be completed. At least 2 PRENATAL BONDING (BA) facilitations shall be conducted with personal guidance/supervision and group supervision in the training group. The documentation for these cases will be about 15 pages involving the pregnant women's biographical background, the facilitation process, and the outcomes for mother and baby. Satisfaction of these conditions results in certification for own appliance of Prenatal Bonding (BA), administered by Gerhard Schroth, MD, Director of APV.

The training involves two blocks of 4,5 days each (36 education units of 45 minutes) in Germany and ten training days by Zoom webinars (3x90 minutes) in a small group.

Dates: 2021 September 3 to 7 and 2022 September 2 to 6. Each 4,5-day block will be conducted in Germany (south of Frankfurt) || 10 single training days will be taught in ZOOM-webinars on Sundays in intervals of about six weeks (excluding vacation months). Certification March 2023

The unique PRENATAL BONDING (BA) CURRICULUM, particularly the self-awareness training and personal reflective work through Enriched Biographical Work requires your participation in all scheduled workshops as an essential condition. The quality of the training in its entirety is dependent on all members being present. This unique format of a "safe container" is an analogy to a safe womb. The profound experience of early bonding to be experienced by the participants themselves creates an ideal preparation for the future facilitations of the pregnant woman and the baby inside.
